Correct! By replacing part of your lawn with native plants, which require little to no attention, you will save time in not having to mow or weed or water not to mention saving money as it will reduce the need for using pesticides and herbicides, all of which are harmful to animals. When you think of it, a butterfly is an insect and will be subject to the same deadly result of insecticides as any other insect. I have a neighbor who doesn't like yellow-jackets and had all the shrubs sprayed. I walked by later in the day and saw all the pollenator bees dead on the ground. My neighbor didn't understand why that wasn't a good thing. |
