Correct!

The proper ratio is four parts boiling water to one part cane sugar (never substitute honey for sugar).  Of course it should be at room temperature before serving it up to your hummers.  Red food coloring is not necessary nor is it recommended.

The feeder needs to be cleaned and the water changed often.  At least once a week at a minimum--every few days is even better, especially in hot weather.
Did you know a nectar feeder provides the equivalent of up to 5000 flowers to a hummingbird?  Now THAT'S what I call one stop shopping.  Another bird that likes nectar is the Northern Oriole.  There are nectar feeders made specifically for them.
